Thank you for making Haiti Stronger in 2023!

Thanks to your continued interest in and support of Overture International, 2023 proved to be a year of amazing PROGRESS! As you’ll see below, we’ve seen great steps made in every area of our work with our friends in southern Haiti! From reunifying children with their families and foster families to completing the community dome project in Dory, we’ve achieved critical milestones in our work. And none of this would have been possible without your generous and persistent support.

Together, we are truly making Haiti Stronger, one child, one family and one community at a time! Thank you and God bless you and your family!

If we had to choose one word to describe Overture’s 2023 it would be PROGRESS! We’ve seen progress in every area of our Five Pillars of our Social Support Model - (Empowerment, Education, Nutrition, Healthcare and Housing).

This means the communities we partner with are making great strides in keeping their children safe, strengthening their families and ultimately realizing their dream of independence and self-reliance.

Here are some highlights of the progress you’ve made possible in 2023:

The Dome Community Center in Dory, one of our priority communities, is complete! Including some of the only public toilets in the area. These domes are an integral part of building community and strengthening families.

Overture partnered with IBESR (the Haitian national child welfare agency) to expand the foster system in southern Haiti. This includes starting the reunification process for 63 children and sparking the transformation of the two orphanages where they were housed.

1200+ scholarships for children, who were at risk of being separated from their families, were funded. The inability to pay for their child’s education is the number one reason families hand over their children to orphanages.

We completed the packaging of 200,000 meals through the Diri Lavi! food packaging program, resulting in more than 12+ employment opportunities for young adults and daily, hot meals for thousands of school children.

25 children with medical issues were rescued from dangerous gang territory and provided crisis care. We are now working to place them with foster families who are currently being trained and equipped.

100 new homes, which began late last year, are now complete! These disaster-resistant, block-built Overture homes were constructed by Haitians for Haitians.

We launched our Orphanages are NOT the Answer! initiative to educate churches (and others who support orphanages) about the harmful effects of the orphanage system in Haiti.

This list represents just a portion of the incredible PROGRESS our donors helped make possible this year!

Thank you and God Bless You!
